The common misconception

Hi guys, one of the common misconceptions of your computer is contaminated or that you got a virus. Looking at this screen, Iā€™m going to explain actually what happens to here and actually get out of it safely. This is my computer, not a virus prone computer. This is my regular Windows 7 computer over here but I left it on the screen just to show you this. So what happened to me here is I was going to do a speed test. The computers are running slow, so i was in a hurry. So I wrote speedtest.net and I canā€™t tell you want I spelt. But obviously I spelled it wrong and it came to this page.

Protech4ā€¦ProtechPC4XYZ, so thatā€™s very common when you are typing out your addresses and you misspell something. These are hackers by all types of misspellings and youā€™ll actually land on a page like this. So here I am going to turn on the volume you can hear what it saysā€¦ā€Security message your computer has a severe virus and spyware infection please call the numberā€. You see itā€™s telling I got a virus, call this number and XYZ. This screen gets locked that you canā€™t really click anywhereā€¦I am going to turn that off. So I am going to show you how to get out of this. When you get out, if you went into a website and its running video or audio. This is just a page thatā€™s serving up this information it really doesnā€™t mean that itā€™s contaminated.

The scenario playing out

Iā€™m giving you this case scenario thereā€™s other computer maybe sites that could inject stuff, here I do have my anti-viruses and none of them popped up because this is just no different from watching a YouTube video but it just looks a lot different. So make sure you hide and get out of here, anywhere you click on this screen is a risk, when you click okay, the red close. Anywhere you click you donā€™t know what command that is going to be, it can be anythingā€™s that decided so any click on the screen could mean install.

So you do not want to click anyway on the screen, you want to go on your keyboard and hit the Ctrl + Alt + Del keys just look for them. Ctrl over to the bottom left and ALT over to the bottom left and then the delete key usually kind of like to the top right. You have a different keyboard it could be somewhere else so you are going to hit those three keys, you can get this. I am on my blue Ctrl Del key I donā€™t know if this is going to record on this software so if that didnā€™t record I am going to show you what happens when you Ctrl+Alt+Del and then open Task Manager you get this here.

Navigating your open windows

Now what you have here all your Windows that are active, all the for example I have my Outlook open and have Chrome open, My Computer is open got a file Iā€™m looking at. My screen recorded and even if I shut that down and close, I got Itunes opened, antivirus, Infragu [03:14] a picture on one of these [03:17]. So what you would do here you are going to go to in this case this message is coming from Internet Explorer. I am going to go here to Internet Explorer, itā€™s an Internet Explorer message so itā€™s basically exactly what we got on that screen and you are going to go End Task. Program is not responding of course and End Now, so this forces that page to shut down externally without clicking anywhere or this is supposed to.

Letā€™s try it again, my thisā€¦there you go it took awhile so that thing was a little resistant there. So that close that screen out, thatā€™s really the only safe way to get out of there otherwise you are going to wind up installing and really contaminating your computer. So thatā€™s my tip for you guys for today on how to get out of the virus message, crazy webpage that you land on. Alright guys, thanks for watching.
